Lake Lewisville and its sprawling Hickory Creek Arm dominate the northern landscape of this Denton County region during the early 2000s. The suburban expansion of Flower Mound and Highland Village is clearly visible, showing a dense network of residential streets such as Village Pkwy and Long Prairie Rd pushing into formerly rural areas.

Traces of an earlier, more agrarian character persist in the landscape through features like Chinn Cemetery and the Soroptimists Crippled Childrens Camp. The area's aviation history is represented by several small landing strips, including Flower Mound Airport and Windmill Hill Airport. To the south, the shoreline of Grapevine Lake marks the edge of the quadrangle, while the east is anchored by the growing centers of Lewisville and Lake Dallas.
