About this map

Mining settlements and rail corridors define this stretch of the Nevada-California border during the early twentieth-century mineral booms. Goldfield and Columbia serve as the primary industrial hubs, connected to the wider world by the Tonopah and Goldfield RR and the Las Vegas and Tonopah RR. This network supported numerous remote operations, including the Palmetto Mine, the Sylvania Mine, and the Borax Mill near the edge of Fish Lake Valley.
