The Swift River cuts across the northern reaches of this Bethel Census Area landscape, winding through a complex network of glacial topography. In the southern half of the sheet, the Little Underhill Creek drains a sprawling wetland environment defined by numerous small ponds and braided watercourses. This 2019 survey documents a vast, uninhabited interior section of Alaska, where the terrain transitions from the lower elevations of the river basins to the rising elevations of the surrounding hills. The absence of roads or permanent structures reflects the remote nature of this wilderness at the edge of the t16n r29w and t15n r28w township boundaries.
