Whitman National Forest and the Eagle Cap Wilderness define the landscape of this high-elevation region in Union County. The terrain is a network of ridges and drainages, where peaks like Bald Mtn and South Baldy overlook a complex system of waterways, including Little Catherine Creek and Lick Creek. These streams are fed by remote sources such as Bearwallow Spring and Ames Spring, eventually joining Catherine Creek in the southwest corner.
