The Little Bighorn River meanders through the southwestern corner of this Big Horn County landscape, carving the wide Little Bighorn Valley as it flows northward. This waterway is accompanied by the Agency Canal, which follows the base of the bluffs alongside S Frontage Rd. The terrain quickly rises from the valley floor into a series of dissected ridges and high plateaus, defined by prominent topographical landmarks like Haystack Butte and the curiously named Abbots Urn.
