Loray sits at the nexus of the Great Basin's high-desert terrain, positioned where the Loray Wash cuts through a landscape defined by the Toano Range and the Leach Range. This 2014 survey reveals a transition between the elevated heights of Murdock Mtn and the broad opening of the Tecoma Valley to the southeast. Water sources are scarce but vital, marked by Murdock Springs, Boyd Spring, and South Spring along the western slopes.
