The Continental Divide winds through this high-country landscape, marking the hydrological crest within the Jicarilla Apache Indian Reservation. This 1983 provisional survey captures a rugged network of drainage systems and high-elevation features, where the reservation boundary meets the northern reaches of the Santa Fe National Forest. A notable human imprint on this wilderness is the Stock Driveway, a historical corridor for moving livestock that follows the natural contours of the land from Los Indios Canyon toward the higher plateaus.
