Wenatchee National Forest and Snoqualmie National Forest converge in this high-elevation landscape within the Cascade Range. The map details a rugged hydrologic network where the headwaters of the N Fork Cedar River and S Fork Cedar River originate, flowing westward away from the crest. On the eastern slopes, the terrain drops toward the shores of Keechelus Lake. The area is a significant corridor for alpine transit, marked by the winding route of the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail as it traverses several high points, including Silver Peak and Tinkham Peak. Numerous small alpine basins contain isolated water bodies such as Annette Lake, Mirror Lake, and the namesake Lost Lake, illustrating the post-glacial character of the Washington Cascades. A complex system of Forest Service roads, such as NFD 5420 RD, provides access to these remote peaks and mountain passes like Meadow Pass and Yakima Pass.
