About this map

Snoqualmie National Forest and Wenatchee National Forest meet at the crest of the Cascade Range on this survey, highlighting the complex drainage systems that define the King and Kittitas county line. The landscape is a high-altitude network of glacial basins and peaks, including Silver Peak and Mt Catherine, which feed major water systems like the North Fork Cedar River and the South Fork Cedar River. A notable pattern of recreational and transit history is visible through the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trl as it winds across Yakima Pass and Meadow Pass. Further east, the John Wayne Trl skirts the edge of Keechelus Lake, following a lower-elevation corridor. These mountain routes and numerous alpine basins, such as Annette Lake, Mirror Lake, and the namesake Lost Lake, demonstrate the area's significance for both watershed protection and back-country navigation.
