1967 Map of Luverne

USGS Topo · Published 1969

About this map

Luverne and the surrounding agricultural townships of Riverside, Broadview, and Willow Lake define this pocket of the eastern Dakotas in the late 1960s. The landscape is bisected by the Great Northern railroad, which serves the elevators and local economy of the small town at the southern edge of the sheet. The western boundary is dominated by the winding course of the Sheyenne River, where the waters of Lake Ashtabula pool behind the Baldhill Dam.
