About this map

Hebgen Lake and its prominent Madison Arm dominate this landscape, where the waters of the South Fork Madison River enter the reservoir from the south. The terrain is defined by the high-elevation forests of the Gallatin National Forest and Targhee National Forest, separated by the Continental Divide as it follows the ridge line near the state border. This mid-1980s provisional survey shows a wilderness region punctuated by utility and aviation infrastructure, most notably the Yellowstone Airport situated near the eastern edge.
