Mangum anchors the northern edge of this Greer County landscape, where the town street grid meets the winding course of the Salt Fork Red River. The river and its tributaries, including Fish Cr and Mulberry Cr, have sculpted a complex terrain of breaks and ridges south of the settlement. Significant water management features are evident across the southern portion of the quadrangle, notably the series of Tri-County Turkey Creek reservoirs, such as Tri-County Turkey Cr Site 16 Reservoir and Tri-County Turkey Cr Site 17 Reservoir, which reflect regional conservation efforts.
