Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park encompasses the majority of this glacial and riverine landscape in the Valdez-Cordova Census Area. The terrain is defined by extreme elevation changes and deep drainage systems, most notably the winding course of the North Fork Bremner River which carves through the southern portion of the sheet. High-altitude hydrology is represented by smaller tributaries such as Sangaina Cr and Lake Cr in the northern reaches, feeding into larger glacial valleys. Evidence of dramatic geological activity is seen at Twelvemile Canyon and Harrys Gulch, where the topography drops sharply toward the riverbed. This survey documents a preserved wilderness area where the lack of human infrastructure or roads emphasizes the sheer scale of the Alaskan interior's natural water and mountain systems.
