Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area dominates the central and southern reaches of this landscape, where the Spokane River Arm meets the waters of the larger reservoir system. The terrain transitions from the open water of Porcupine Bay to the rising elevations of Lilienthal Mtn and Pitney Butte in the south. To the north, the topography levels into Enterprise Valley and the smaller McCoy Lake, a region defined by a network of rural roads and land management boundaries. The presence of Orazada Mine Rd near Boundary Butte points to the area's legacy of resource extraction, while numerous seasonal drainages like Ferguson Cr and Blue Cr carve through the timbered uplands and Tamarack Flat.
