Little Fishing Creek meanders through the northeast corner of this quadrangle, anchoring the borough of Millville and the nearby village of Eyers Grove. The landscape is a patchwork of ridges and valley runs spanning the border of Columbia and Montour counties. To the west, Jerseytown sits at a prominent crossroads, while the Conrail rail line tracks through the valley floor toward Derry.

Rural community life is centered on scattered country churches, including Dutch Hill Ch and St Peters Ch near Columbia Hill. Significant portions of the northern terrain are dedicated to State Game Lands No 226, preserving the wooded slopes between Chillisquaque Creek and the southern agricultural basins where Frozen Run and Kase Run flow. This survey documents the area as it appeared in the late 1960s, before later development altered the rural character of these township divisions.
