About this map

Lake Koshkonong dominates the northern landscape of this Rock County region, its shoreline defined by Thiebeau Point, Stony Point, and the prominent Charlie Bluff. By the early 1960s, the twin settlements of Milton and Milton Junction serve as a central rail hub, where the tracks of the Chicago and North Western and the Chicago Milwaukee St Paul and Pacific railroads intersect. This transportation network supported a local economy of gravel extraction and agriculture, evidenced by numerous Gravel Pits and the Quarry to the south.
