Wenatchee National Forest dominates this landscape along the border of Chelan and Kittitas counties, where the high-elevation terrain of Mission Ridge and Mission Peak forms a dramatic backdrop. The map details a complex network of forest roads and trails, including the Beehive Trail and Liberty-Beehive Rd, which navigate the steep drainages of Devils Gulch and Squilchuck. Of particular interest to local historians is the Dutch Settlement located in the southern portion of the quadrangle near the Naneum Basin. Water management is evident through a series of mountain catchments, most notably Beehive Reservoir and the H and H Reservoir Number One near Beehive Mtn. The transition from northern canyons like Pendleton Canyon to the southern ridges such as Naneum Ridge illustrates the diverse topography of the eastern Cascades.
