1899 Map of Mooers

USGS Topo · Published 1939

About this map

Great Chazy River and its numerous tributaries dominate the northern Clinton County landscape, where the Rutland RR and Delaware and Hudson RR converged at Mooers Junction. This late 19th-century survey documents a region of small industrial hamlets and rural crossings just south of the United States-Dominion of Canada boundary. The terrain transitions from the lowlands near Mooers and West Chazy to the more significant elevations of Rand Hill and Big Hill in the south.
