Helena National Forest dominates this mountain landscape along the boundary of Powell and Lewis and Clark Counties. The topography is defined by the winding course of the Blackfoot River, which cuts through the center of the sheet near Blackfoot Canyon Campground. Evidence of the region's mining history is visible along Lincoln Gulch in the northeast, where several Mines and the Lincoln Gulch Cem are located.
