The Pedernales River carves through the northern portion of this Hill Country landscape, serving as a primary drainage for numerous seasonal creeks including White Oak Cr and Spring Cr. The namesake Morris Ranch settlement anchors the northeast, accompanied by the Hill Crest Cem and the small airfield at White Oak Airport. Moving south, the terrain becomes increasingly complex as the Mitchke Valley and Kott Valley define the local topography. This 2016 survey illustrates a landscape of large rural holdings and ranch roads, such as Bennett Ranch Rd and Perry Ranch Rd, that follow the winding contours of the land. The boundary between Gillespie Co and Kerr Co cuts across the southern section, where the headwaters of Trough Spring Cr and Wolf Cr originate.
