Mount Roothaan and the distinctive granite spires of Chimney Rock anchor this high-altitude portion of the Selkirk Mountains along the border of Boundary and Bonner counties. The landscape is defined by its complex hydrography, where alpine basins hold Hunt Lake, Fault Lake, and McCormick Lake. These waters feed a network of drainages including the West Branch Priest River and South Fork Indian Creek.
