The Romanzof Mountains and Franklin Mountains dominate this high-latitude survey of the Brooks Range, centered on the towering peaks of Mt Michelson and Mt Chamberlin. The landscape is defined by its massive drainage systems, particularly the Canning River and the Hulahula River, which flow northward toward Camden Bay on the Arctic coast. Between these ranges, the map details complex valley systems such as Ignek Valley and Ikiakpaurak Valley, which provided historical corridors for travel and exploration through the Sadlerochit Mountains.

Hydrography compiled in cooperation with the Naval Petroleum Reserve highlights the importance of the region's inland waters, including the deep alpine waters of Lake Schrader and Lake Peters. Evidence of early surveying and habitation is sparse but notable, marked by the solitary VABM 25 Cabin near the coast and the distinct Kingak Cliff.
