Nabesna marks the upper reaches of the Nabesna River valley, situated within a vast landscape defined by the intersection of the Wrangell-Saint Elias National Preserve and the Wrangell-St. Elias Wilderness. The terrain is characterized by the high peaks of the Wrangell Mountains, including Keenan Peak and the Raven Hills to the north. A complex hydrological network feeds into the glacial valley, with Jacksina Creek and Bond Creek carving through the mountain passes.
