About this map

The Necedah National Wildlife Refuge dominates this mid-century landscape, characterized by an extensive network of water management features including the Sprague Flowage, Meadow Valley Flowage, and Potters Flowage. These reservoirs and ditches, such as the Rattail Ditch and Spencer-Robinson Ditch, illustrate a complex hydrological system designed for the Central Wisconsin wetlands. The Yellow River meanders southward through the center of the sheet toward the village of Necedah, where it eventually joins the massive Petenwell Flowage on the Wisconsin River.
