1988 Map of Newfoundland Mountains

USGS Topo · Published 1989

About this map

The Newfoundland Mountains stand as a prominent island of rock within the surrounding expanse of the Great Salt Lake Desert in this late-twentieth-century study of Box Elder and Tooele Counties. The landscape is defined by the massive Great Salt Lake Evaporation Basin and the shifting interface of the Mud Flat and Clyman Bay. To the west, the Southern Pacific line runs through the small settlements of Lucin and Lemay, while an Old Railroad Grade traces a historical path across the desert floor further north.
