About this map

Malta sits at the eastern edge of this Idaho landscape where the high peaks of the Cotterel Mountains meet the wide Raft River Valley. The terrain is defined by dramatic vertical relief, falling from the high ridges of the Jim Sage Mountains in the southwest toward the alluvial plains carved by Cassia Creek. This drainage system is a lifeline in the high desert, supported by numerous upland water sources including Nibbs Spring, Rice Spring, and McClenden Spring.
