1981 Map of Nighthawk

USGS Topo · Published 1982

About this map

The Similkameen River carves a deep valley through this northern Washington landscape, bordering the Canadian frontier at Nighthawk Customs. The settlement of Nighthawk and the former Chopaka (Site) anchor a region defined by an extensive history of hard-rock mining. Dozens of claims pepper the slopes of Little Chopaka Mountain and Ellemeham Mountain, including the Golden Zone Mine, Favorite Mine, and the Four Metals Mine.
