Lehua island and the northern reaches of Ni'ihau define this maritime study of the isolated waters in Kauai County. The crescent-shaped islet of Lehua is meticulously detailed with its high points at Kahauna and Keaulepe, separated from the main island by the Lehua Channel. To the north and east, the vast Kaulakahi Channel opens toward the rest of the Hawaiian chain, while the western side is dominated by the open Pacific Ocean.
