The North Yolla Bolly Mountains dominate this high-elevation landscape along the boundary of Trinity National Forest and Mendocino National Forest. This remote section of the California Coast Ranges is defined by a complex network of ridges and basins, including Rat-Trap Ridge, Fisher Ridge, and the Beegum Basin. The drainage system is equally intricate, with the S Fork Trinity River and the E Fork S Fork Trinity River carving through the western slopes while the Cold Fork and S Fork Beegum Cr flow toward the east.
