The Medicine Bow Mountains dominate the northern landscape of this Jackson County survey, where the Wyoming-Colorado state line crosses high-elevation terrain. This rugged section of North Park is characterized by an intricate network of irrigation systems, reflecting a long history of water management for mountain ranching. Numerous named ditches, including the Canadian Ditch, Spaulding Ditch, and Walker Ditch, divert water from the North Platte River and Canadian River to support the high-altitude valley. The southern portion of the map is largely dedicated to the Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge, where the river bottoms provide critical habitat. Recreational and forest access is documented through trails such as the Camp Creek Loop Trl and Pinkham Mountain Loop Trl, winding through the Routt National Forest.
