This rugged section of North Park is characterized by an intricate network of irrigation systems, reflecting a long history of water management for mountain ranching. Numerous named ditches, including the Canadian Ditch, Spaulding Ditch, and Walker Ditch, divert water from the North Platte River and Canadian River to support the high-altitude valley.
