2015 Map of Oates

USGS Topo · Published 2015

About this map

The settlement of Oates serves as a central point in this Missouri landscape, where the drainage of Brushy Cr and the Dry Fork carve through the heavily hollowed terrain. Much of the area is protected within the Mark Twain National Forest, revealing a region defined by its timbered ridges and deep valleys such as Sugar Camp Hollow and Johnson Hollow. The boundary between Iron and Reynolds Counties cuts across the northern half of the sheet, where the industrial presence of the Amax Tailing Pond contrasts with the surrounding wilderness.
