Ojito and Tapicitoes occupy a high-elevation landscape in Rio Arriba County, where the terrain is defined by a complex network of canyons and drainage systems. This 2020 survey illustrates a region largely shaped by the natural contours of Tapicito Ridge and several prominent watercourses, including Sleeper Canyon and Gavilan Canyon. The settlement patterns here are sparse, connected by a grid of rural routes such as Co RD 402 and Co RD 401 that negotiate the broken topography.
