Pahvant Butte dominates the northern horizon of this Millard County landscape, a prominent volcanic landmark surrounded by extensive lava flows and shifting Sand Dunes. The western edge of the map is defined by the Clear Lake Waterfowl Management Area, where a series of water bodies including Clear Lake and Spring Lake are maintained by a Dam and management Headquarters. This juxtaposition of arid volcanic terrain and managed wetlands reveals the deliberate efforts to control water in a desert environment.

Industrial activity in the early 1970s is evidenced by several Cinder Pits and a Gravel Pit near the butte, likely utilizing the volcanic materials of the area. To the southeast, the landscape transitions into the curiously named Devils Kitchen and Devils Kitchen Reservoir. Isolated features such as Hellhole and the North Flow Well dot the interior, connected only by occasional trails through the brush and sand.
