Flathead National Forest encompasses the majority of this landscape along the border of Lake and Missoula counties. The terrain is defined by a dense network of mountain drainages, with Cold Creek and its tributary South Fork Cold Creek carving through the central and southern sections. These waters eventually feed into the Swan River, which winds along the eastern edge of the quadrangle. The namesake Peck Lake sits in the northern reaches, a small water body accessed by Peck Lake Road.
