Perico sits at the heart of this High Plains landscape in Dallam County, serving as a focal point for the surrounding cattle country and ranching operations. The terrain is defined by the winding course of Rita Blanca Cr, which is fed by both the W Rita Blanca Cr and E Rita Blanca Cr. These ephemeral watercourses cut through the shortgrass prairie that makes up the Rita Blanca National Grassland, a significant portion of which occupies the northern section of the map.
