Perkins and the surrounding agricultural lands of Jenkins County are defined by a complex network of creeks and small impoundments. The landscape is dotted with several significant water features including Brinson Millpond, Jenkins Lake, and Magnolia-View Lake, many of which are controlled by named dams. A notable concentration of community life is visible near the southern edge at Magnolia Springs State Park, which includes the Millen National Fish Hatchery and Magnolia Springs State Park Lake.
