Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area dominates the northern reaches of this Big Horn County landscape, where the waters of Bighorn Lake meet the steep elevation changes of the Big Horn Mountains. The terrain is defined by a series of high ridges and deep drainages, such as Little Bull Elk Canyon and Saw-Log Canyon, which carve through the limestone-heavy topography. Named heights like War Man Mtn and Peyote Point provide prominent overlooks across the rugged drainage basins.
