Platina sits at the northeastern corner of this 2018 survey, where Platina Rd meets the winding Beegum Gorge Rd. This area of Northern California is defined by the steep drainage systems of the Trinity National Forest, where a complex network of gulches including Harrison Gulch, Basin Gulch, and Platinum Gulch feed into the Middle Fork Cottonwood Cr. The landscape is a high-altitude terrain of named ridges and peaks, such as Noble Ridge and Little Red Mtn, rising above the deep canyons of the Beegum Cr system.
