The Kakpeyak River defines the drainage of this remote Arctic interior, carving a winding path through the northern landscape of the North Slope. Rising among the distinct elevations of the South Maktak Hills, the river system and its tributaries provide the primary geographic structure for this vast territory. This 2014 survey serves as a modern record of the hydrology and terrain within the Public Land Survey System grids, including T34n R28w and T33n R28w.
