The community of Puposky sits along the eastern shore of Puposky Lake in this northern Minnesota landscape dominated by a network of interconnected glacial lakes and wetlands. The geography is defined by significant water bodies such as Lake Julia, Little Turtle Lake, and Rice Lake, which are linked by the Turtle River as it flows through the southern portion of the quadrangle. This area serves as a primary drainage basin for the northern woods, evidenced by the numerous named creeks and lakes that populate the township lines of T149N and T148N.
