The Spotted Range and the evocative Fallout Hills dominate this desert landscape, where the terrain is defined by rugged relief and high-altitude contours. Much of this territory is restricted or protected, split between the vast Nellis Air Force Range and the Desert National Wildlife Range. The eastern portion of the sheet levels out into the broad expanse of Indian Springs Valley, showing the transition from steep mountain slopes to the valley floor. This 1970s survey captures a remote section of Lincoln County where military use and conservation boundaries overlap, preserving a snapshot of the Great Basin topography before the era of modern digital mapping.
