Reward and McKittrick sit at the intersection of industry and the high desert landscape of western Kern County. The terrain is defined by the steep elevation of the Temblor Range, which gives way to a complex network of drainage systems including Wood Canyon, Pottinger Canyon, and Maddux Canyon. These geographic features drain eastward into the broader Temblor Valley and McKittrick Valley, eventually meeting the vast San Joaquin Valley.
