The Aransas River meanders sharply through the coastal plains of south Texas, forming the prominent loop of Rincon Bend and the northern border with Refugio County. This landscape is defined by the hydrologic relationship between the river and Chiltipin Cr, which drains the central portion of the sheet. The terrain is dotted with several significant water bodies and ranching improvements, including the large catchment of Big Lake and localized water sources such as Palomo Tank and Rincon Tank.
