Riverside sits at the base of the steep western slopes of the Okanogan River valley, marking a point where the river bends sharply southward. The landscape is defined by the Wagonroad Coulee and a remarkable concentration of small mountain lakes scattered across the uplands to the west, including Medicine Lake, Shellberg Lake, and the clustered Twin Lakes. These bodies of water are tucked between prominent rises such as Chilson Mtn and Cave Mtn, while the area known as Lime Belt suggests the geological character of the terrain. The network of local roads, such as Seven Lakes Rd and Jacktar Rd, provides access to these isolated water bodies and the various mountain summits like Carter Mtn and Short Mtn that overlook the valley floor.
