Riverton sits at the confluence where the West Nishnabotna River meets the East Nishnabotna River, a landscape defined by the shifting waters and fertile plains of Fremont County. This 2022 survey illustrates the modern layout of the town alongside the complex wetland systems of the river valley. The agricultural grid is punctuated by several small burial grounds that preserve the names of early settler families, such as Redd Cem and Utterback Cem.
