Robere and the surrounding plains on the border of Glacier and Pondera counties are defined by an intricate network of early 21st-century irrigation infrastructure and historical pathways. The landscape is crisscrossed by essential water management features such as the Thomas Williamson Ditch, Ryan Lauffler Ditch, and the Birch Cr Main Canal, which support agriculture across the Birch Creek Flats. These man-made channels diverge from the natural course of Birch Cr and Blacktail Cr, reflecting the long-term reliance on water engineering in this part of Montana.
