Oakland University dominates the western portion of this landscape, situated between the growing communities of Auburn Hills and Rochester Hills. The 2011 terrain is defined by the winding course of the Clinton River and its various tributaries, including Paint Creek, Sargent Creek, and Galloway Creek. This drainage network once fueled the early development of Rochester and Goodison, though by this era, the area is characterized by dense suburban residential networks and significant academic and commercial infrastructure.
