The Ouachita National Forest dominates this section of McCurtain County, where the topography is defined by the significant confluence of river systems. The West Fork Glover River and East Fork Glover River converge here to form the main stem of the Glover River, which winds southward through the center of the quadrangle. This drainage network is fed by numerous tributaries including Winship Br and Terrapin Cr, carving a complex landscape between the heights of Big Horseshoe Mtn and Little Horseshoe Mtn.
