The small settlement of Roy occupies a high-desert landscape defined by complex drainages and ranching heritage. Located north of Quaking Asp Mountain, the area is characterized by a network of seasonal water sources including Lonigan Springs, Sagehen Springs, and Hansen Spring, which supported the early development of properties like Hansen Ranch. The terrain is a labyrinth of deep cuts, with Holloway Canyon and Colson Canyon feeding into broader features like the Colson Basin.
